A 70mm Bore, 70mm Stroke Single Cylinder Double Acting Engine.
Designed for The Steam Boat Association to Commercial Engine Proportions
for Long and Reliable Performance with Ease of Construction.
Production Standard No.1 with it's wooden insulation fitted.
No castings are used, the major components being manufactured from 20mm,
10mm and 8mm steel plate lazer cut and welded. The cylinder,piston,covers,
valve chest and valve assembly are machined from continuous cast fine grain iron.
The ready welded frame, part machined bearing housings, connecting rod with big
end , crank webs with a length of ground shaft material and bushes to suit, cut to
length cast iron bars are offered as a single cylinder kit.

The Concept Engine with a fabricated column, although complex, proved the
theory that a fabricated engine was feasable, and that distortion on assembly could
be kept down to an acceptable minimum. With the aid of Computer Aided Design
many drawings and images were created to achieve what turned out to be a compact and robust engine.

Only slight modifications were made to the frame height, to ensure easier
assembly of the crank.
